Companies seem to lay people off way too easily these days without much warning, so having the government step in and slow that down a bit doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

Companies seem to lay people off way too easily these days without much warning, so having the government step in and slow that down a bit doesn't sound unreasonable to me.
I've seen colleagues get a layoff email at midnight with zero warning after years of loyal work, their whole sense of security gone overnight. Nobody should have that much power over another person's life with that little accountability.
