Caste discrimination didn't end with independence—it's embedded in Indian society and actively blocks SC/ST/OBC communities from education and jobs. Reservations are the only mechanism we have to level a fundamentally unequal playing field where upper-caste networks dominate prestigious colleges and corporate sectors. Without them, we're just pretending the problem went away.
Reservations made sense in 1950, but India's changed. We now have a huge OBC majority, creamy layer abuse is rampant, and talented lower-caste students get into top colleges anyway. Continuing rigid quotas hurts deserving candidates, wastes merit, and actually entrenches a victim mentality instead of pushing communities to compete and excel on their own terms.
