India needs a single unifying language to function as a modern nation, and Hindi as the mother tongue of hundreds of millions is the obvious choice. Forcing regional languages for everything wastes resources on translation, creates bureaucratic inefficiency, and prevents Indians from truly understanding each other across state lines. Without Hindi as the common tongue, we'll never achieve the cohesion and economic integration that countries like China or Japan enjoy.
