India's 1.4 billion people desperately need jobs and rising living standards—only high GDP growth creates the tax revenue for schools, hospitals, and infrastructure everyone depends on. Countries like China lifted 800 million out of poverty through rapid industrialization, not by slowing growth for redistribution. We can't afford idealism; we need FDI, manufacturing hubs, and special economic zones running at full speed, and the wealth will eventually trickle down.
India already has some of the world's worst inequality—our top 10% owns more wealth than the bottom 50% combined. Chasing GDP numbers while farmers commit suicide and slum dwellers have no clean water is morally bankrupt and economically fragile; societies with extreme gaps face instability, poor health outcomes, and wasted human potential. We need land reform, fair wages, and progressive taxation to ensure growth actually benefits the masses, not just Bangalore billionaires.
