India has 1.4 billion people to lift out of poverty, and we can't do that without manufacturing, jobs, and factories. Western countries industrialized without worrying about the environment, got rich, and only then started cleaning up—we deserve the same path. Environmental regulations are a luxury for wealthy nations; for us, they're a barrier to the economic growth our citizens desperately need.
We're already choking in pollution—Delhi, Mumbai, our rivers are toxic, our soil is dying. Economic growth means nothing if our children can't breathe or drink clean water. We don't have time to industrialize first and fix it later like the West did; climate change won't wait. Smart, green development creates jobs too, and it's what our grandchildren will actually inherit.
