India has 1.4 billion people to lift out of poverty—we can't afford to move slowly on development. China industrialized aggressively and now has the resources to invest in green tech; we need the same path. Environmental restrictions just push manufacturing to countries with no standards, while our workers lose jobs. Economic growth funds better education, healthcare, and eventually cleaner tech.
We've already destroyed our rivers, poisoned our air in major cities, and made farming unviable for millions through unsustainable practices. The farmers' protests and Delhi's smog aren't signs of progress—they're warnings. Growth built on exploiting land and labor doesn't last. India should learn from the West's mistakes and build sustainable development now, not clean up a devastated landscape later while the wealthy escape to other countries.
